Introduction to ISO 14001

The environment has assumed greater importance in the overall business strategy of companies in Ireland. Environmental issues are becoming increasingly complex. Environmental laws and regulations are becoming more stringent and are proving to be extremely onerous for business. Only a properly structured and implemented management approach can provide a measure of confidence in sound environmental performance. This can best be achieved by implementing
ISO 14001.

This one-day course will be of interest to those personnel who wish to understand ISO 14001, the environmental management system standard, its benefits and its impact on the company.

On completing this course the participant will understand:

• The internal and external benefits of having an environmental management system

• The status of ISO 14001 within Ireland, the EU and worldwide

• The differences between ISO 14001, ISO 9000 and OHSAS 18001

• The implications for the company of implementing ISO 14001

• The documentation requirements of ISO 14001

• The difficulties involved in implementing ISO 14001

• The registration and certification process for ISO 14001

Who Should Attend:

All personnel in the company who wish to gain an understanding of ISO 14001 and all personnel who are contemplating or are in the process of introducing an environmental management system.
